Woodsong - "We have bear trouble..." by Gary Paulsen

Woodsong is a memoir of Gary Paulsen's life and "We have bear trouble..." is a peek into that life and his transformation in how he approaches nature and his environment.

You can find an audio version of the book on You-tube. Or you can access it at your local library. You may be able to find this chapter online, but I am sorry, I don't have a link for you.

Here is the handout for Grade 6 which as always can be adapted to other grades. I have included critical thinking questions, theme exploration, writing prompts, Christian application and extension activities.

Blessings,

Natalie

Movies for Learning: Shadowlands

Shadowlands - C.S. Lewis

www.amazon.ca

Shadowlands is such a wonderful movie to learn more about C.S. Lewis and his wife Joy. Such a powerful story of love, caring, grief, transformation and faithfulness. Most of our students hadn't seen this movie before but most have them had read some of C.S. Lewis' books. This I think made the students want to engage more.

I hope that you will enjoy this movie and explore it through the questions below!

Our next movie, Chariots of Fire was set in the 1920's. It was an excellent study on so many levels. Learning about how our choices honor God, ourselves or men.

Eric Liddell's testimony through this film is truly inspiring!!
