Fahrenheit 451 Redacted Poetry

Redacted poetry is a wonderful way to combine both art and poetry. For those students who love doing design projects, it is a great way of expressing themselves in both word and image. Fahrenheit 451 has vivid descriptions that made great prose to turn into poetry.

This student loves doing digital redacted poetry and her ability to combine images with the words always inspires me! She has layered images beautifully here, along with the text and then adjusted the colour of the text so one fades and the poetry stands out. They are works of art! There are so many ways to use redacted poetry!

Fahrenheit 451 - Finding Evidence

To reflect on Fahrenheit 451 we used this excellent resource from Katie Pingle that I found on Teacher Pay Teachers. Thank you Katie!
Finding the significance of an event in the book was a challenge. Sometimes even finding the evidence was a challenge. You can borrow the book from archive.org or from your local library, listen to the radio play or the audiobook
As a final project one of my students re-wrote a scene from the book but placed it in a modern setting. Another did an essay on banned books. There are many other options to extend learning on this book. This is a great resource for doing that!
